"My background in Nestle Thailand was mainly in financial field with limited business exposure. Once this offer with the Nestle Group Audit was proposed to me, I decided to join the team with the objective to learn more about Nestle and businesses and also to gain international experiences.
After 3.5 years with the Nestle Group Audit, I have to say that the auditing has given me many great experiences. Firstly, it serves as a real-life MBA. You have the opportunity to learn about all areas of business and you have exposure to people at all level of the organization. Once you become team leader, you develop your skills to lead, inspire, and mentor people, which helps prepare you for the next step in your career. Secondly, it broadens your global awareness. You travel to many places around the world - from top destinations to the places where you would never have thought to go otherwise. It trains you to be adaptable to dynamic team environments and to be open minded to different cultures. Lastly, you get to meet people from around the world and develop great friendships that you carry with you for life - even after you leave the department. Through all of these experiences, you discover who you really are, what is important to you, and what you would like to do in life.
Nevertheless, to have all these great experiences requires a lot of commitments. It is always a big challenge to maintain your work-life balance as pressures from deadlines, long working hours or even sleepless nights are unavoidable. Living out of suitcases and surfing the airports becomes tiresome, and is not always as glamorous a lifestyle as others would think. You need to have endurance and the right attitude to live this life productively and to the full.
Now when my journey nearly arrives to the end, I can say that the 3.5 years are just flown, especially when you don’t think about the timing and just enjoy it. Apart from all great experiences you have, this is also a great step to your next career in Nestle which I would like to pursue. I would encourage anybody who is up for a challenge and amazing opportunity to join. I, myself, would make the same decision again."
